Genflow Biosciences Plc (LSE: GENF; OTCQB: GENFF) announced on September 8, 2026, that its SIRT6 gene-therapy study in aged dogs met its primary endpoint. The company said treated animals showed an improvement in biological age compared with untreated controls, as measured using a DNA-methylation clock.
The randomized and blinded SLAB study enrolled 24 beagles over 10 years old. The dogs were divided among two naked-DNA treatment cohorts using different dose levels, a group receiving a single AAV8-based treatment and a saline control group.
Genflow used a GRIM methylation clock as the study’s primary measure. DNA-methylation clocks estimate biological age using chemical changes found at specific locations in DNA. The endpoint was a biomarker of aging rather than a direct demonstration that the treatment extended the dogs’ lifespans.
The company described the result as a clear improvement over the control group but did not disclose the size of the effect, results for the individual treatment groups, statistical significance or supporting methylation data in its announcement. Those details are expected to be presented at the Animal Longevity Summit in Toronto on October 2.
Genflow also reported improvements across unspecified functional and observable secondary measures. Earlier study updates described favorable trends in muscle preservation, frailty, quality of life and survival, with no adverse events reported during the evaluated periods. Muscle-biopsy histology and mechanistic findings are expected to form part of the October presentation.
“Meeting the primary endpoint in SLAB is a defining milestone for Genflow,” CEO Eric Leire said.
The therapy delivers a variant of the SIRT6 gene found in centenarians. SIRT6 is involved in several cellular processes associated with aging, including DNA repair and metabolic regulation. Genflow is investigating whether increasing its activity could address age-related physical decline.
The immediate commercial opportunity is in animal health, not human medicine. Genflow said it remains in discussions with unnamed global animal-health companies concerning possible licensing, co-development and commercialization arrangements. No partnership or licensing agreement was announced alongside the results.
The study is small, and its findings cannot be extrapolated directly to people. Genflow’s human-development pipeline includes separate SIRT6 programs for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and certain ophthalmic conditions.
Financing remains an important consideration. Genflow reported £111,792 in cash as of December 31, 2025. In March, it raised £800,000 by issuing approximately 42.1 million shares, each accompanied by a warrant that could create further dilution. The company also received an initial €336,467 installment from a separate €4 million Wallonia Region grant supporting its liver-disease program. The latest study announcement did not provide a current cash balance.

Sources used include Genflow’s September 8, 2026 SLAB announcement, its July 13 operational update, its April 30 annual-results announcement and its March financing and grant disclosures. Information concerning the study, SIRT6 mechanism, potential commercial applications and anticipated milestones originated primarily from Genflow and has not been independently validated by Biotech Stocks Daily.
The SLAB study involved 24 aged dogs and was not a human clinical trial. Its primary endpoint was based on a biological-age biomarker and does not demonstrate increased lifespan, prevention of disease or clinical benefit in people. Genflow did not disclose the magnitude of the reported change, treatment-group results, statistical analyses or complete safety data in its September 8 announcement.
Genflow’s therapies remain investigational and have not received regulatory approval. There is no assurance that the results will support a commercial veterinary product, human development or a licensing agreement. Discussions with prospective animal-health partners may not produce a completed transaction.
Financial information reflects disclosures made on different dates and may have changed. The £111,792 cash balance was reported as of December 31, 2025 and predates Genflow’s March 2026 financing and grant installment. The financing involved new shares and warrants that diluted existing shareholders and may cause additional dilution.
